Tiffany Glass art

Using the Tiffany-technique Marianna Eulderink creates glass art. She was trained in Joost Wijnberg’s atelier in Noordwijk, the Netherlands. The technique (glass cutting, grinding and soldering with lead) is only one aspect of making art. Creativity, inspiration and perspiration are essential. Marianna gets her inspiration from lots of things. Her main source of inspiration initially were drawings of flowers and insects from the dutch Golden Century, for example by Maria Sibylla Merian.

She made pattern adaptations required for glass art herself. Gradually she evolved from there into creating her own patterns.

Glass panels, vases, scales, lamps and more

Nowadays Marianna also makes spatial structures of glass in all kinds of colours. The exceptions are glass panels with some relief. She developed an ‘ajourtechnique’ (spaces left open between the pieces of glass) and constructed pedestals of fused copper sticks, frequently with leaf decoration. She frequently uses irregular disks, amalgamated by herself in a furnace from coloured glass, which are joined by Tiffany-technique. This gives a certain sparkling aspect to the pieces of work. These become more modern and abstract in this way.

Because the pieces of work look differently in striking light than in permeating light their looks change each time, just like the sea. Marianna remains amorous with magical light that plays in multicoloured glass.
